  • Overview

    Responsible for the South LA territory, the Regional Account Manager (RAM) will successfully launch and grow Tetraphase’s lead product, Eravacycline. The RAM will be accountable for building awareness, advocacy, and access for Eravacycline. This may be accomplished by partnering with a variety of customers including Infectious Disease Specialists, Surgeons, Critical Care Physicians, Pharmacy Directors, Hospitalists, and Microbiologists.  The ideal candidate will consistently operate with integrity and possess subject matter expertise in both the infectious disease market and hospital / health systems setting including knowledge of ID market dynamics, hospital / health system infrastructure, formulary review process, and HIT systems.  

    The Regional Account Manager (RAM) will be responsible for achieving and maximizing territory and account sales goals through account management, high level clinical proficiency and effective selling.  Eravacycline is our first clinical candidate from our novel antibiotic discovery engine. This position will contribute to the future sales growth of a strong pipeline of new products that are expected to follow.

    Responsibilities

    • Must be able to educate targeted individuals on the clinical and economic benefits of the Tetraphase product and work closely with Sales Management and Medical Affairs to present a unified approach and consistent data to the customer
    • Possesses strong account management skills including but not limited to: negotiation, communication, influence and leadership
    • Build and maintain strong business relationships with key customers and KOLs
    • Possesses deep customer knowledge and understands the hospital marketplace and the goals and concerns of each targeted hospital within their defined territory (patient care issues, protocols, reimbursement).  Is able to create and implement a business strategy based on the marketplace dynamics.
    • Easily builds relationships within customer base and within Tetraphase team
    • Ability to plan and organize to maximize business opportunities
    • Strategically and effectively manage regional budget and resources
    • Ensure cohesive collaboration with counterparts (field and internal) to ensure a successful customer engagement flow
    • This is a field-based position.  Overnight travel requirements vary by territory; travel also required to regional and national meetings.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 10 years pharmaceutical, biotech or related sales experience preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years hospital sales experience
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
    • Antibiotic experience is preferred
    • Hospital launch experience is preferred
    • Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record of delivering sales results while demonstrating the highest levels of ethics and integrity
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions
    • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and clearly articulate the company’s vision and mission
