Overview

The Sr. Director of Commercial operations will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and will be a key member of the Commercial Leadership team. The Sr. Director will be responsible for leading and developing the Commercial Operations function and working closely with the IT team and Consultants to ensure that the evolving needs of the commercial organization are met.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Commercial operations day to day activities
  • Provide guidance and feedback around commercial insights for the Commercial team
  • Identify and hire high performers for open positions as needed
  • Work with cross-functional team to set strategic direction for incentive compensation
  • Work with CCO and Sales force directors to ensure appropriate head counts and mapping for field sales organization
  • Work to ensure that Tetraphase acquires, integrates and manages appropriate data sets to support commercial needs
  • Support all Business Intelligence needs
  • Set and manage the annual budget for the Commercial Operations team
  • Proactively identify gaps and develop comprehensive plans to remediate, including development of business cases as necessary to secure funding

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing commercial data in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with Master Data Management
  • Strategic thinker who understands the specific impacts of inaccurate, untimely data on each business function
  • Exceptionally detail oriented and process driven
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience negotiating data contracts with a variety of suppliers (e.g. IMS, SPP’s, Wholesalers, Payers etc)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Partners exceptionally well with a wide range of colleagues and vendors, with cross-functional peers
  • Strong collaboration skills
